Add an API Client

You can add an API Client. Unlike a user, an API Client is a non human entity. After adding an API Client, a client ID and a client secret are automatically generated for the API Client. A client secret is used for authenticating the API Client with Live Hub.

Once you have added an API Client, you can assign it to a User Group(s). If the API key is for Outbound Calling, then assign them to Call Control and Call Data Manager.

The client secret is displayed only during the API Client creation process (see Step 3 below). Once added, you can't view the secret again. Therefore, you must copy the client secret during this process (when displayed) so that you can use it for configuring whatever feature requires the secret (for example, Live Hub's outbound dialing as described here).

To add an API Client:

  1. Access the IAM functionality(see Open Access control (IAM)).

  2. In the Main Menu pane, select API Clients; the following page appears, listing the API clients (if any):

  1. Click Add API Client; the following dialog box appears:

  1. In the field, type a name for the API client, and then click Add API Client; a client ID and client secret are generated for the API client. You can copy these, by using the copy-to-clipboard icon.

  1. Click Close.
